David described one. This has one major disadvantage: If you
change the way Bogofilter parses the message, that change
cannot be applied.

The main saving would come form reducing the size of
attachments which are not parsed anyway. So it would be best
to just delete the encoded line between the first and the
last, so we would keep all MIME headers and the overall
structure of the messages unchanged.
