Tom,

You may be exaggerating the benefits.  I'm sure:

  Skip autoupdating '-u' if the spamicity is within this value of 
  0.000000 (surely ham) or 1.000000 (surely spam) in order to lessen
  wordlist growth.

is valid.  I've got some doubts about the "over-sensitivity" clause.
