How to get the most out of Bogofilter

Hello all,

I thought I'd ask a few questions about bogomail while libdb is
compiling on the other machine ;)

How can I get the most out of Bogofilter? My config will look
something like this:

I run my own mailserver (eXtremail) on one of my own servers. I have
Fetchmail on the same server picking up mail from verious pop accounts
(lots of spam on those!) and forwarding mail to the mailserver.

Extremail is a smart small mailserever but it lacks a few features. It
does have `mailfilters` though so I can pass incoming mail through a
script or program to check it for viruses or spam. I use a filter in
combination with antivir (www.antivir.de) to check incoming mails for
viruses. I would like to use Bogofilter in the same way, but...

I can pass an email though stdout to a script or program but extremail
only expects a return value from that. for example, I set up a filter
that will return a 1 in case of spam which means that the email will
not be delivered to the recipient, it will get bounced.

If this the way someone would use Bogofilter in a production
environment or is there another (better) way to use it?

I really wonder cause I kinda feel as if I've stumbled onto something
really good but the limitation of eXtremail is preventing me to use
the spam filtering abilities to the fullest.

If somebody could point me to some document or whatever which explains
how Bogofilter should be used in combination with midly used
mailservers to give me a point from where I can start than that's fine
also. I've read most of the documentation but I don't have the exact
picture in mind as to how to use Bogofilter most efficiently.

Thanks for all your help!
