RPM install

the rpm package of bogofilter that I installed on SuSE 9.0

bogofilter-0.17.1-1.i586.rpm

has a problem with the man pages.

when I do a 'man bogofilter' I get garble

I wanted to upgrade and since the source didn't work for me this morning 
I put in the RPM package.  Only now I don't know how to configure it.

the arguments -peu3 fail.

It seems that -3 is no longer an option.

So, I can either fix my source build or fix my man pages.
Or maybe both just for posterity?
