Filtering before MS Exchange

Hello,

I have the following setup ... hopefully I can write a How To ... and
post it to the list.

We have a postfix server running in the DMZ, it receives all mail from
the internet.

All mail is received by postfix's smtpd and send to bogofilter for spam
checking via pipe. Bogofilter checks the message and gives it to
sendmail to delievery.

This causes the pickup process to get the message which then passed it
to amavisd-new for virus checking.

If the message it considered spam the mail gets send to a virtual
account for the user which is available from a web interface.

If the message is not spam it gets forwarded to our exchange server.

On exchange I setup a user called ldapuser which has full control over
public folders "IT-SPAM".

Any e-mail that users receive that is spam they simple have to drap into
the public folder.

On the postfix box I am using "offlineimap" to connect to exchange as
the ldapuser and download any mail in the public folder IT-SPAM.

Bogofilter is then told to classify those e-mails as SPAM.

From the web interface if a message is not spam, the user can hit a
"FastForward" button which places a copy of the e-mail in a directory
accessible by the bogofilter user. It also send the e-mail to the users
exchange account.

Bogofilter will reclassify the messages in the folder every time the
officelineimap script is run.

Anything is possible.

Michael.
