Interesting posting, I'd say.  I tried to uprev gcc a few years ago (because
we really wanted to compile something that had c++ components), & could not
get it to build, & could not get any help from the development group, & found
that this was the experience of several people on the DG/UX list that was
then active.  As it then took many, many hours just to download anything,
I gave up.  I don't know whether a more recent gcc is doable or not.
At this point DG/UX is all but unsupported (DG having been bought a while
back by EMC who only wanted it's disk-clustering technology), but we are
supporting quite a few legacy systems, both M88k & Intel.

I'll look at it when I have a chance, though.
