Well... my fear is we'll be creating a half-baked ad-hoc interface now
that we're stuck with. We should label each and every line of our API
with "Subject to change without prior notice".

Just something you can throw the command line at will be sufficient for
many people. When we're going shared, we'll have to provide a structure
to hold our run control data anyways, and return it via handle to the user.
