Bogofilter does not support BerkeleyDB 1. You need some 3.X or 4.X
version. I have tested 3.3, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2, and older 3.X versions may
also work.

Other than that, BerkeleyDB 1 is said to be a lot slower than the newer
versions. I'd recommend getting at least 3.3, which ships with many
systems (Debian) or is also available from SunFreeware.
