Matthias,

I've been reading their docs and looking at their sample programs.  Their 
approach seems reasonable.  It sounds as though you've gotten deeper into 
the code than I have, so far.

As I'm reading, I'm also proofreading and correcting.  I'll send them a 
corrective patch when I'm done.

If we do go ahead with eps, I'm sure we'll find other details to fix.  'Tis 
also known as "life in the fast lane" :-)
