However, this configuration I'm running on should be pretty reliable, my
/home is on a Linux machine, ext3 + data=journal file system, on a
U160-SCSI disk drive that has not reported any troubles and with its
fast write cache switched off, attached to a properly terminated bridged
SCSI bus (Adaptec 2940UW Pro).

I'm wondering if there are DB issues with my version.

Another theory: What may have happened is that some days ago a hardware
lock-up during a write to the data base may have planted the seed for
