Bogofilter will not catch anything

I installed bogofilter and installed the evolution bogofilter plugin.
I moved 140 spam emails to a new folder called spam and did:
 bogofilter -s < ~/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox.sbd/spam
but bogofilter will not catch not even one spam email.
Any idea why?
