This does depend on your registration strategy. I register all unsure
email as "Ham", simply because the overwhelming bulk of it is. There's
only a couple of spam emails a day, if that, that get through
bogofilter.

As a consequence, when I do want to mark a message as spam, I have to
unregister it. 

This strategy was, as David suggests, the result of a lot of thinking
through the consequences of what might happen. My head was spinning by
the time I decided this was my best way forward.

It might not suit all circumstances, and I present it only as an option
to consider. For example, it assumes you can respond to emails fairly
quickly. If you download your email once a week, then you'll find this
strategy increases the amount of spam you see. I'll leave it to the
reader to work out why this is, but will point out that this is the sort
of thinking you've got to do,
