I had an issue with FC2 on an AMD system:

Related to a long running issue:

with NPTL. My fix was to find some precompiled db42 binaries
(unfortunately I no longer have a link to them).
That problem might be cleared up with FC3. As for if that's related to
your DB_PRIVATE issue, I'm not sure.
You might try downloading the DB4.2 source from
http://sleepycat.com/download/db/index.shtml
and trying to make an RPM out of it to install.
I see that db4.3 has just been released, anyone try that with
bogofilter?
