Yes, definitely yes, but I haven't time to shoot at a moving target. 
We are improving the process of determining appropriate parameter
values (despite contributions of dubious value from some of the
statistical illiterati on this list :( ), and when we have something
stable to talk about, I have every intention of rewriting that HOWTO. 
I fully concur that it requires updating.

BTW I would like to thank you for your various contributions to the
list.  I always enjoy reading your input.
