Alas! Yes, I should have noticed this long ago. But in my defense, the man page for the admittedly obsolete version we're using (0.14.4) makes no mention of -PD/Pd or -PF/pf. Neither does the HTML-ized version of the man page here: http://bogofilter.sourceforge.net/bogofilter-man.html. 
  
We may have to delay our upgrade to 0.17, but at least we have a migration path now. Thank you.
