can't get bogofilter 0.13.0 compiled on debian/sarge

I'm trying to get bogofilter compiled under debian sarge, and it's
complaining about not finding BerkelyDB.

I have db-4.1.25.tar.gz installed, in /usr/local.

I've tried "./configure --with-db=/usr/local" and with 
"./configure --with-db=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1", all resulting in the
same abort error;

checking if a program can be linked against BerkeleyDB and run... yes
checking if BerkeleyDB header and library versions match... no
configure: error: db.h header file and db library version do not match.
