I don't get it:

Error creating directory: No such file or directory
bogofilter: cannot find bogofilter directory.
You must specify a directory on the command line, in the
config file, or by using the BOGOFILTER_DIR or HOME
environment variables. Program aborting.

Looking at /etc/bogofilter.cf:
bogofilter_dir=~/.bogofilter
user_config_file=~/.bogofilter.cf

So?
