I am running: Linux 2.4.19C7_V with GNU bash, version 2.04.21(1)-release
(i386-redhat-Linux-gnu) on an Cobalt RaQ 550 from Sun. I am not sure how
much Sun have changed from an ordinary Red Hat Linux.

Only script I have tried is the randomtrain and the bogominitrain.pl.
randomtrain worked well.
