Hi,

I have committed some changes to the CVS repository that are supposed to
improve the build on systems that build BerkeleyDB with mutexes (AIX
4.3, AIX 5, Digital Unix, SCO/Caldera UnixWare/OpenUNIX; possibly some
FreeBSD versions (not 4.8 though, as it seems, at least not with db from
ports or packages).

I'd appreciate if someone could test if the build now works
WITH CC UNSET.

So if you're testing this (AIX 4.3 for example):

unset CC
./configure --with-db=/path/to/BerkeleyDB.X.Y/

If it fails, please provide the config.log. If config.log writes
something about -lpthread or -lthread not found but -ldb is found,
please try to figure where these thread libraries reside in your
system's or compiler's manual.
