apt-get and other Debian tools grab the deb or source package from
whatever Debian mirror you have configured.  It's not as flexible as
ports, in that you can only get source tarballs from explicitly
specified sites.

f.ex., from my /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian unstable main
deb-src http://http.us.debian.org/debian unstable main
