Can't find $HOME.

Jim,

How are you running bogofilter?  If from a script, try defining 
"HOME=ProperValue" before bogofilter is called.  Given that you've built 
bogofilter from source, you can try going into file config.c and disable 
the home directory checks in function read_config_file().
