Hi Clint,

On my Gentoo box, bf_compact is using gawk, not mawk or awk.

Looking further I see that bf_compact is generated from bf_compact.in
which uses @AWK at .  Looking still further, I see that configure checks
for "gawk mawk nawk awk" and that comes from AC_PROG_AWK in
configure.ac.

My conclusion is that autoconf is responsible and there's no need to
change bogofilter.
