Well, the problem is the systems that Al offered (RHL7.1, RHL9.0) are
past their end-of-life and haven't seen Errata (how Red Hat call their
security and other important) fixes in years.

Nobody should be running any such system any more, and I'm not going to
support (either way) such a system.

Find attached my current Makefile.am diff vs. CVS HEAD.
