Clint,

I was able to reproduce this with sqlite 3.2.1 on an oldish
SPARC64/Solaris 8. I checked CVS, 3.2.2 and 3.2.1 and found the problem
was fixed in 3.2.2 and the current CVS.

Chatting with D. Richard Hipp online, he found out that the relevant
changeset was <http://www.sqlite.org/cvstrac/chngview?cn=2452>.

I've filed a "crash" bug against the Blastwave.org sqlite3 package
asking the maintainer to update to 3.2.2, see
<http://www.blastwave.org/mantis/view_bug_page.php?f_id=0001079>
(anonymous login required to view the report)

I've filed a "grave" bug against the Debian sqlite3 package asking the
maintainer to update to 3.2.2, see
<http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=317594>

HTH,
