merging gifs

Greetings,

Are any of you out there graphically knowledgeable enough to join to
.gif images and create one?

Here's why I ask:

http://bogofilter.sourceforge.net/ is the bogofilter home page on
sourceforge.  It recently got a "make-over" and looks good -- except it
suffers from a couple of ugly streaks in its header.  I've managed to
hack the php code that displays the header and make the streaks go away.
However there are two images that used to be one and need to return to
oneness.  They are header.r2_c1.gif and header.inc_r3_c1.gif and I've
attached copies of them.

Can someone handle this task for me?
