[PATCH] failure building static 0.15.9

Greetings,

I have done some work on configure's --enable-static option to correct
libdb build problems and to use the static executables when running
"make check".  For anybody who wants to test my changes, the attached
tarball has new versions of the following files:

   configure.ac src/Makefile.am src/tests/Makefile.am
src/tests/t.frame.in

On my Mandrake 9.1 workstation these new files allow me to build the
static executables and run the regression test.  However, I have not yet
addressed the libpthread issue.

I haven't looked at acinclude.m4 because I'm not familiar with its
intention nor its working.

Let me know if the changes solve the problem for you.  If not a complete
solution, e.g. RH-9, do they help?
