Here's my recollection of the voting:

2 votes to add '-U' as a modifier for '-S' or '-N' meaning 'unregister 
only.  don't register in other word list'

2 votes saying "Change it sooner rather than later - it's still pre 
1.0.  Beta users and early adopters expect changes."

several votes saying "The change is good".

Total number of votes was under 10.
