glib might not be as big an issue, but I have seen FreeBSD (that uses
X11 locale names (ISO8859-1), not the glibc-like names (ISO-8859-1, mind
the additional hyphen) reveal character set bugs on FreeBSD in gmime
(the Pan port was only recently fixed). So I'd consider gmime as not
mature enough.
